In 2023, ConnectAbility Australia acquired Early Links inclusion Support. An Early Intervention and DisabilityInclusion Support Service offering Allied Health support for people of all ages with a disability in the Lower and Upper Hunter regions.

The role

 

We are currently seeking Full Time Speech Pathologists to join our multi-discipline team. New graduates are encouraged to apply along with Part-time enquiries will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality family centredSpeech Pathology assessment,intervention, and supportto childrenwith developmental delaysordisabilities.
  • Complete professional written documentation for intervention and support. 
  • Provide timely consultancy support tocollaborative team members,families,and other agencies.  
  • Liaise with families, primary contact and other stakeholders regarding the child’s goals and how Speech Pathology intervention will work towards these goals.  
  • Complete paperwork forfunding bodiesin a timely manner.  
  • Collaboration with clients, families, group homes, client support networks, schools, and interdisciplinary disability related health teams working within the person-centred practice paradigm, considering the individual’s needs, abilities, preferences, choices, and aspirations.  
  • Maintaining the highest standards of clinical care by participating in continuing education to updating skills and knowledge specific to expertise.   
  • Maintain professional knowledge and procedures required by funding bodies – NDIS/Medicare.  
  • Achievebillable targets.  

 

About You

 

We're seeking individuals who can work independently with regular support while also thriving in a team environment. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a professional work ethic, and a commitment to evidence-based practice. While we understand that time management and organizational skills will develop with experience and guidance, those who have already mastered and can demonstrate these abilities will have an advantage.

 

Essential Criteria: 

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology (or equivalent) 
  • CPSP status with Speech Pathology Australia (provisional and full CPSP status are both accepted) 
  • NDIS Worker Orientation module completion certificate 
  • Eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership 
  • Current Working with Children 
  • NDIS worker screening check 
  • Current NSW Drivers licence and reliable comprehensively insured car that can be used for home, centre and school visits 
  • Current first aid certificate (including CPR)
