The Facility Manager is accountable for managing the safe and efficient delivery of all facilities management services to Kalgoorlie Campus through both internal staff and external contractors to provide quick response for corrective, breakdown and emergency service; and managing the planning and delivery of the scheduled preventative service program in accordance with statutory requirements and key performance indicators.

The position also provides, in accordance with the requirements of line-management supervision of any Operations and Maintenance staff based in Kalgoorlie. 

The role involves collaborating with the Director of the Kalgoorlie Campus, Operations & Maintenance team, tenants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality services and an exceptional student experience. This includes effectively managing contracts, staff, finances, and technical matters.
Additionally, the position entails working with other project teams to integrate modern building and engineering advice into maintenance and service delivery processes, as well as assessing value and realizing benefits effectively.

To be successful in the role:

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, with a proven history of effectively developing and executing operational management plans, reports, and projects. You will excel in cultivating trusting relationships and communicating adeptly with diverse stakeholders, adjusting your approach as necessary.

With a keen financial understanding, you will accurately estimate budget requirements and make sound strategic decisions. Proficient in contract negotiation and management, you will ensure favourable outcomes for the University.

Additionally, you will possess the ability to enhance service quality by understanding tenant needs and implementing innovative delivery methods. Your proficiency in computerised facilities management systems and productivity software, coupled with resilience and adaptability, will enable you to navigate changing priorities effectively.

Relevant degree or equivalent in either building, construction or facilities management, together with extensive relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training is required.
