Sports Turf Manager

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Turf Manager to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and presentation of our sports ovals, ensuring they are of the highest standard for our community.

• Manage and Maintain Sports Turf: Ensure the health and presentation of our sports turf surfaces, including the identification and control of pests, diseases, and weeds.
• Operate Plant and Equipment: Safely operate a range of plant and equipment associated with turf maintenance, including pre-starts, cleaning, and reporting of faults and damages.
• Provide Guidance and Training: Provide limited guidance and on-the-job training to team members as required.
• Assist with Construction and Maintenance: Assist with construction projects and major maintenance works as directed.
• Report and Record: Report daily to the immediate Supervisor for instructions and to inform on operational matters.

• Tertiary Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Turf Management (minimum Cert III Sports Turf Management) with proven experience in Sports Turf Management.
• Certifications: Spraying certificate and current satisfactory National Police Clearance.
• Skills and Knowledge: Good verbal communication skills, ability to work under general supervision or unsupervised, understanding and knowledge of safe work practices, and experience in operating various items of plant equipment associated with turf maintenance.
