Lead and grow innovative research ventures for lasting impact.
Job Description:
Develop and support RMIT's pipeline of commercialization opportunities. Guide initiatives from early-stage identification to pre-seed stage and beyond.
Play a critical role in shaping, mentoring, and positioning these initiatives for investment and long-term success. Manage processes associated with investment governance and provide strategic investment advice.
Ambitious venture investment managers thrive in complex environments, drive innovation and commercialization, and motivate researchers and founders to translate ideas into impactful ventures.
Drawing on networks, commercial acumen, and experience in deal structuring, amplify the scale and quality of investment-ready opportunities in the RMIT pre-seed pipeline and accelerate new company formation based on world-class IP.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Managing and curating a technology pipeline with stakeholders
Providing recommendations and advice at senior management and executive management levels
Guiding and assisting founders and early-stage technology companies to develop businesses and achieve success
Complex venture/deal structuring experience to ensure models align RMIT interests with investors and partners
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Postgraduate degree in science, technology, and/or business with demonstrated experience in commercializing university research or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
Experience managing and curating technology pipelines
Excellent communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills
Risk management experience in establishing commercial initiatives
Proven ability to work across various technology options and deliver results in complex organizations
