**The role**:

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, The primary responsibility of the Workplace Relations Advisor is to provide specialist workplace relations advice, support and guidance to stakeholders across the organisation, ensuring that our client's policies and industrial obligations are met and complied with.

**Role responsibilities**:

- Acting as the first point of contact for industrial and workplace relations queries and matters
- Providing technical expertise, advice and support to employees and leaders on workplace relations matters, legislation, organisational policy and procedure and industrial instruments
- Leading workplace investigations, disciplinary issues and grievances, and providing coaching and support to leaders and employees involved in the process
- Where relevant, ensuring Council'sconsultative obligations are met, to support employees and leaders in the successful implementation of change
- Monitoring, tracking and reporting on workplace investigations and presenting key themes and operational improvements for consideration
- Adhere to (and promote) HR, IT, OH&S/Risk Management policies, procedures and practices
- Demonstrate understanding and accountability for record-keeping policy including the accuracy and capture of data, the sensitivities involved and the release and destruction of documents
- Making decisions utilising existing policies and procedures, relevant legislation and the Enterprise Agreement
- Operate in a self-managed way to engage the organisation to create a continuous improvement culture

**To be considered for the above opportunities**:

- Tertiary qualifications, industry qualification and/or equivalent experience in a comparable environment
- Experience in working in a complex, multi-disciplinary organisation
- Extensive knowledge and experience supporting industrial or workplace relations
- Strong understanding of employee relations practices and implementing process efficiencies
- Able to work independently and make sound decisions based on experience and good judgement
- Extensive knowledge and experience of HR policies, procedures and relevant acts and regulations
