The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking Program Assistants who will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of NGV Learning Programs and ensuring participants in NGV Learning Programs are welcomed and provided with information and assistance of a high standard.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will assist Learning staff with the set-up, delivery, facilitation and pack down of Learning programs, events and activities, including practical art making sessions in Education Studios. Other key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining work areas, and supplies, including in studio spaces.
- Contributing to improvements in service delivery by communicating issues that arise on the floor or in the studio to the relevant staff member.
- Assisting with meeting and greeting of participants in Learning programs and as required assist with administrative tasks related to Learning resources, bookings and program organisation.
To be successful you will have skills and confidence in art making activities coupled with the proven ability to work effectively with a range of age groups including early learners, primary and secondary students, adult learners and educators. You also have a current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one. You are proactive and self-starting, seizing opportunities, acting upon them and taking responsibility for your own actions. You are adaptable, open to new ideas, recognise the merits of different options, and act accordingly.
You can clearly explain information and listen to feedback. You speak clearly and concisely and keep people interested and you use a polite and considerate manner when dealing with others. You also organise information in a logical sequence and include content appropriate for the purpose of the audience.
