**The School**

Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School has over 2900 students from K-12 at campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon and Keilor East. We have outstanding staff, facilities and programmes to enhance student learning and well-being.

**The Role**

Applications are invited from suitably experienced, qualified, enthusiastic and caring individuals to support student learning and well-being at the Junior School (boys), working in classrooms with individuals and groups of students. We have a full time ongoing position commencing in Term Three and a full time fixed term position for Terms Three and Four.

A Learning Assistant will under the guidance and supervision of the teacher assist in the running of classes as directed. This may include:

- Assisting teachers in the preparation of program activities, including preparation and organization of classroom resources, materials and equipment
- Monitoring student well-being and reporting any matters of concern
- Supporting student learning in a broad range of activities
- Undertaking supervision duties outside of classroom activities, including playground, excursions, sports activities as required
- Assisting the teacher in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment for the students
- Supporting students with special needs (eg, anaphylaxis, allergies, physical, or learning disabilities) and assisting students with special needs in participating in school programs
- Attending and supporting a range of school events and activities as required.
