**Petal and Pup **is looking for a
**Junior Buyer** who has a sharp eye for emerging trends and cutting edge of style. As a
**Junior Buyer** for our global company, you will support the in-house Buyers with sourcing styles and stock for your category and have the opportunity to manage sub-categories with a focus on outstanding sell-through while following the brands direction.

**Essential Functions**:

- Partner with buyers to Source, develop and select assortment to build a range that is commercially strong, regionally specific, and relevant to our customers.
- Ensure completion of required administrative tasks related to buying (writing purchase orders, new item set-up, pricing worksheets, Po tracking and Po writing Etc).
- Set up, analyse, present, and recap sales trends, results, & hindsights to leadership and cross-functional partners. Demonstrate on a daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Continue to build data analytical skills and maintain data integrity across the system (i.e., Shopify, Inventory Planner, NetSuite, and any proprietary tools built in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets).
- Identify and analyse new trends/styles and their relevance to the Petal & Pup customer.
- Manage OTB within defined categories with help from a replenishment/ Head of Planning & Replenishment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Analyse and report on competitors (online and in-store, domestic and international) for stock, pricing, styling, and overall range.
- Research the competition, all social media platforms, and markets to identify emerging trends, categories, and promotional campaign opportunities
- Assess product range for gaps and opportunities.
- Help with campaign collection lifecycle. Assist in building a collection line list for monthly Marketing stories. Aid buyers in assorting and tracking products until Marketing handoff.
- Price products to optimise demand through evaluation of product cost, sell-through, margin, and other factors.
- Utilise learnings to revise in-season and future-season actions, strategies, and assortments
- Review sales performance to identify potential reorders and recommend styles for markdowns
- Analyse sales in-season and post-season (hindsight) to identify hits and misses
- Monitor deliveries, including late deliveries, incorrect/partial deliveries, and incorrect invoices
- Actively search for new products and brands that align with the Petal & Pup aesthetic and business strategy

**Requirements for the position**:

- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Statistics, or a related topic preferred. Closely related work experience can be substituted on a year-for-year basis (i.e., 4 year degree = 4 years of closely related work experience).
- Previous experience in fashion/apparel buying is required.
- Must be able to demonstrate high proficiency in MS Excel (i.e., formulas, macros, pivot tables). Power BI is a plus
- Outstanding interpersonal skills which include a demonstrated ability to actively listen and show empathy.
