Overview

Our client, the Department of Education, are currently seeking a Project Manager (Planning & Analysis) for their Flood Resilience Program. The Program is a Queensland Government initiative that aims to create stronger, safer and more flood resilient schools. The Flood Resilience Team, Infrastructure (Building) Services Division within the Department of Education oversees and implements the Flood Resilience Program that seeks to inform an overarching infrastructure planning and design process, improving the management of flood risk and reducing flood impacts, including cost and time of recovery.

Role and location

Initial 12-month contract with likely extensions paying approx. $1,000/day. Brisbane CBD location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week. Candidates with QLD Govt Project Assessment Framework and/ Flood Resilience experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning phase of schools within the Flood Resilience Program and manage core deliverables, including multi-options analyses and detailed business cases in accordance with the Queensland Government's Project Assessment Framework.
  • Obtain all relevant regulatory approvals (Ministerial Infrastructure Designations, development applications, or other required approvals).
  • Prepare budget documentation and necessary funding approvals (e.g., Cabinet Budget Review Committee submissions).
  • Coordinate internal and external discussions, oversee the project program, and act as the central point of contact for the projects.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams across multiple concurrent education projects in the planning phase.
Qualifications and experience
  • Demonstrated experience on government infrastructure projects and leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Experience supporting a Flood Resilience Program or related infrastructure resilience initiatives is desirable.
  • Experience with procurement activities for external consultants is a plus.

Casual loading

Please note for all Australian-based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed-term roles.
