Executive Director, Specialist Operations and Coordination Ambulance Victoria (AV) is committed to saving and improving lives by providing outstanding patient care.
This role provides strategic leadership to AV's Specialist Operations and Coordination (SOC) division, enabling high-quality care and improved accessibility and responsiveness of emergency care.About the SOC divisionThe Specialist Operations and Coordination division provides direct specialist care and clinical advice to the Victorian community and health services through retrieval, aeromedical and stroke specialist services.
SOC coordinates ambulance resourcing and access to emergency and non-emergency services and alternate care pathways.
SOC is a team of over 700 clinicians and specialists providing clinical services, logistical coordination, operational communications and major contract management.About the roleAmbulance Victoria is seeking a suitably experienced senior leader for the position of Executive Director, Specialist Operations and Coordination.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, this Executive Leadership role provides strategic direction to the SOC division to deliver high-quality care and patient experience, and to improve accessibility and responsiveness of emergency care.Key responsibilities include:Provide executive leadership and oversight of all aspects of the SOC division, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements, achievement of performance indicators and delivery of best patient careOffer strategic and operational advice to support divisional and AV-wide goals, risk mitigation, innovation and continuous improvementDrive integration and innovation across the division to improve coordination, care and management of complex patients, and enhance collaboration with partners for better system flowFoster teamwork and effective collaboration with system partners and stakeholders to maintain AV's reputationModel best care principles and provide specialist expertise for emergency and non-emergency requirementsPromote a safe, lawful, respectful workplace culture and build regional capability for cultural integration and wellbeingAbout youWe are looking for a highly motivated and strategic senior leader with extensive healthcare experience at the senior level.
The successful applicant will have:Tertiary or postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical discipline (medicine, paramedicine or similar)Extensive senior experience in ambulance service operations, including development, implementation and evaluation of service delivery and operational programsStrong knowledge of state-wide telecommunications technology and communicationsProven ability to advance clinical knowledge through problem solving and systems thinkingExcellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholdersCoaching, mentoring and leadership experience managing a large, diverse workforce across multiple locations, with track record in leading change and culture improvementFor a detailed description of position accountabilities and requirements, please refer to the attached position description.Working at Ambulance VictoriaAV offers a professional working environment with work/life balance, salary packaging options, generous leave entitlements, accrued days off for full-time roles, and other benefits including free on-site parking.
