Support Youth Options' NDIS and Youth Space programs by assisting with participant engagement, program delivery, and administrative tasks in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
Working under supervision of the NDIS Coordinator or Placement Coordinator and Youth Space Case Managers.
Inputting and quality auditing of existing databases and client files.
Ensuring adherence to NDIS-specific procedures and policies.
Assisting in the supervision of NDIS Team Meetings.
Assisting in group and one-on-one sessions with NDIS participants under supervision.
Working with NDIS participants to build capacity to achieve goals and provide feedback on accomplishments.
Utilizing the Youth Options NDIS Practice Framework to support participant learning.
Inspiring students to create projects, providing feedback, and helping them problem-solve.
Modeling and encouraging appropriate behavior standards and building positive relationships with students.
Assisting in the running of experiential-based student programs (e.g., cooking, music, workshops).
Assisting in the maintenance of student files.
Raising concerns about student welfare or other issues with the Youth Space team.
Providing additional support to other areas of Youth Options as needed (e.g., reception coverage).
Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Working with Children Check.
Disability Services Employment Screening Check OR NDIS Worker Check.
Willingness to undertake Reporting Abuse and Neglect in an Educational Care setting (RRHAN-EC) training prior to employment.
South Australian 'C' Class drivers' licence.
Proficient use of Microsoft applications.
Ability to build positive working relationships and engage with young people and NDIS participants of varying disabilities and barriers.
Ability to adapt in a busy learning environment and provide support as needed.
Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, plan and organize workloads, and complete tasks to achieve specific goals.
Ability to work sensitively and respectfully with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD).
Innovative and creative approach, with willingness to share practical skills and work experientially under supervision.
Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting young people's engagement with learning and employment.
Highly desirable:
Previous experience in youth or disability-related work.
Knowledge of secondary education and curriculum, including SACE and FLO.
Understanding of current labour market and employment barriers and opportunities for young people.
