As Manager Governance & Risk Services, you will be a key architect of this transformation, building frameworks, strengthening governance maturity, and embedding a culture of integrity that will shape Council's future.
This is a newly created leadership role, giving you a rare opportunity to set the direction, influence decisions at the highest levels, and leave a lasting legacy for both Council and the community.
What You will Do
Reporting directly to the Director Corporate Services and working closely with the Executive Team, you will be trusted to:
Drive strategic governance and enterprise risk frameworks that lift organisational performance.
Oversee Council's most important corporate documents — including the Corporate Plan, Operational Plan, and Annual Report.
Coordinate the Audit & Risk Committee and deliver targeted internal audit programs.
Lead business improvement initiatives that achieve real, measurable impact.
You will not be doing it alone.
You will be supported by a dedicated Governance Officer, a soon-to-be-appointed Lead Business Improvement Analyst, and a high-performing Communications team, giving you the leverage to deliver change that sticks.
About You

You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Governance, Law, Risk, or Public Administration.
A proven track record in governance, compliance, or business improvement and ideally some exposure to local government.
Sharp analytical and reporting skills, paired with the ability to interpret complex legislation
Outstanding communication and stakeholder skills — you know how to build trust and influence.
A genuine passion for public service and innovation.
