We're searching for a Network Operator for a **6 month fixed term contract **to take ownership of monitoring and supporting IT infrastructure, IP Broadcast, Broadband and Technology platforms. You will be responsible for the day to day management of operational aspects of the network including managing faults, network monitoring, routine maintenance, and documentation tasks.
Additionally, you will play your part in assisting with the ongoing maintenance and development of our customer facing support tools and backend systems.
The role works in a flexible environment and requires being able to work on a rotating shift roster including night and weekends from 6am - 10pm.
In this role you'll be responsible for
- Monitor Technology platforms through event management and monitoring tools, escalating problems as required.
- Creating and Managing trouble tickets, network alarms, and rectifying faults according to internal fault management procedures ensuring service level agreements are achieved.
- Managing technology escalations from business users relating to networking issues through to resolution.
- Monitoring various elements of the network with the assistance of multiple Network Management Systems.
- Coordinate, support and troubleshoot IT systems
- Point of Contact for coordination on all Critical and Major outages; Produce informative communications and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams for IT Infrastructure, IP Broadcast, Broadcast, Technology platforms, planned events and unplanned issues.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, customers, service partners, site owners, and vendors to resolve major problems.
- Collaborate and co-ordinate planned change management activities across infrastructure groups.
- Assisting with change management processes for planned outages, network hazards and permits to work.
- Undertake maintenance checks and tasks on network elements and supporting systems.
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of customer-facing tools, and backend support systems.
- Maintain accurate details of any new or ongoing problems in operational tracking databases.
- Manage event communications to IT Help Desk and IT Operational management.
- Completion of project work or additional tasks as requested by the Operations Manager.
- Assist Technology support departments when required.
- Proactively Support customer care groups with any IT Infrastructure related faults or failure that support our customers.
- Clear and concise Communication to stakeholders when major outages occur.
- Maintain and update Operational processes on a regular basis.
Your background should include
- Strong logic skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sources
- An intelligent and logical approach to problem solving and incident management
- Able to manage multiple demands and events while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Experience in Information Technology Network troubleshooting and problem solving in an enterprise environment.
- Previous experience in a Network Operations Centre or similar position preferred.
- Demonstrated tolerance for high volume workload and multi-tasking abilities.
- Working knowledge of ITIL practices.
- Excellent computer skills using MS Office, SharePoint, Teams and Excel.
- Tertiary education or Information Technology related qualification preferred.
- Strong customer focus.
- Requirement to work a rotating shift roster including regular night and weekend shifts.
- ITIL certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with Broadcast/Network Management systems in an operational environment is desirable.
- Proficiency in the use of the Event Management Systems and Service Management Platforms (ServiceNow) will be highly regarded.
- Excellent Organisational skills.
- Availability to work afternoon and weekend shifts with occasional overtime shifts as required.
- Strong documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
