Data collected by APRA is used for prudential supervision, statistical publications and shared with partner agencies APRA is continuing its multi-year program to invest in and embed data as a core enabler of more informed data-driven decisions and early risk identification. In 2021, APRA launched a new data collection system that facilitates the development of future data collections which will use broader and more granular data models to fulfil multiple data requirements.

In the insurance space, there are two major project underway to (i) transform our insurance data into richer, deeper data collections and (ii) migrate existing data into the new collection.

**The opportunity**

The Insurance Strategic Insights (ISI) team, part of APRA's Data Analytics and Insights unit, is expanding to help forge the next stages of these projects. We are recruiting for a Manager role to help lead aspects of this work.
You will be actively involved in all aspects of ISI's work to deliver on APRA's Data Strategy:

- **Collect** - collaborate with industry and other key stakeholder to design, develop and implement the data projects;
- ** Curate** - contribute to the uplift of our data architecture, data governance and data analytics capabilities;
- ** Convey** - craft persuasive, meaningful and actionable insights from the data that compel supervisory and policy outcomes; and shape the publication of APRA data through new, interactive platforms using Power BI.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders;
- Demonstrated use of data and the insights that can be obtained through data;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Experience in SAS EG (SQL), R and Power BI are desirable but not essential;
- Insurance industry, economics, actuarial knowledge also desirable but not essential.
