Your Role
CSL's new state-of-the-art site in Tullamarine, Melbourne, features a 28,400 square metre office and manufacturing space dedicated to producing influenza vaccines for Australia and other markets. As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for fault correction, calibration, preventative maintenance, and overhauls of instrumentation and control equipment.
Additional tasks include maintaining the integrity of the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), managing engineering stores, and performing work planning (scope, setup, isolation, and risk assessments), scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs, shutdowns, commissioning, and test running of machines and equipment.
Initially, employment will be under a 10-day fortnight schedule to participate in the commissioning of the facility on day shifts, transitioning to a 24/7 rotating 12-hour shift pattern to support production.
Your Responsibilities
Shutdown, isolate, and test run machines and equipment as required for maintenance
Diagnose faults, repair, and calibrate control and monitoring loop elements, electronic systems, and sub-assemblies
Diagnose faults on interconnected and non-interconnected electrical circuits and systems
Perform routine calibration of process instruments, both in-situ and in the workshop
Report non-compliance conditions, abnormal equipment issues, and maintenance difficulties to the Maintenance Engineer - Electrical/Instrumentation
Perform preventive maintenance tasks following SOPs as directed
Interpret control system and electrical/electronic circuit diagrams and engineering drawings; prepare sketches of systems and circuit modifications
Work within a highly regulated environment with rigorous Operating Procedures for all tasks
Maintain workshop equipment and reference calibration instruments in a GMP environment
Your Experience
Relevant Trade Qualification as an Instrumentation Technician
Experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG, or chemical production environments is desirable
Good Manufacturing Practices experience is desirable
Understanding of calibration methods and experience in non-conformance investigations
Computer literacy, with knowledge of SAP or similar systems highly beneficial
Commitment to safety for yourself and your team
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
