Bechtel are seeking experienced Instrumentation Technicians to join the Pluto Train 2 Project in Karratha.

Project Overview:

The Pluto Train 2 project, managed by Woodside Energy, is an expansion of the existing Pluto LNG facility near Karratha, Western Australia. This ambitious project will increase processing capacity for Scarborough gas, boosting LNG production to approximately 5 million tonnes per annum, and expand domestic gas capacity to 225 terajoules per day. Bechtel has been selected to oversee the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) for this significant project, helping to meet the rising global demand for LNG.

  • Fly home on the morning of day 21, paid at ordinary hours – be home the same day
  • Accrued RDO – opt to be paid during RNR or at the end of your contract
  • Full-time, permanent employment with 4 weeks of annual leave and 10 days of personal leave
  • $5.40 per hour site allowance
  • $175 per week project incentive payment (PIP)
  • Severance payment of 2x base hourly rate per week
  • Weekly pay

Position Overview:

In this position, you will be required to perform:

  • Instrument calibrations, loop testing/checking, analyzer testing, function testing and troubleshooting instrumentation such as flow, level, temperature, and pressure transmitters.
  • Shut down and control valve testing
  • Reading, understanding and following P&ID's, data sheets, calibration reports, loop drawings, cause and effects and supplier manuals
  • Use various types of test and calibration equipment

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position, preferably within the construction industry for a minimum of 3 years
  • Cert III or Cert IV Instrumentation (or equivalent)
  • WA Electricians Licence
  • First Aid
  • CPR & LVR
  • Construction White Card
  • Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Cert IV Hazardous Areas
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening
  • Previous Bechtel/LNG/Major project experience is desirable

Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e. wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
