The Role
The Parking team is within the Compliance Operations Unit and is part of the Amenity and Compliance branch. Other teams within the branch include Animal Management, Local Laws, Business Support, School Crossings and Prosecutions. The Parking and Road Safety Team contributes to the safety and amenity of the municipality through information provision, assistance, and enforcement of Acts, Local Laws and Regulations.
The Team Leader Parking and Road Safety provides high-quality leadership, administration, customer service and technical support across the Parking Team. You will guide, coach, train and motivate officers to achieve team objectives, provide strategic direction through data and pattern analysis, and implement improved ways of working. Working both individually and as part of a team, you will be self-motivated, organised, detail-oriented and able to manage conflicting priorities. Shift times vary from 6:15am to 16:00pm during the week with occasional overtime on weekends.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of parking officers, providing coaching, development plans and performance feedback.
Provide strategic direction using data analysis and implement process improvements.
Ensure compliance with parking laws, evidence collection, note-taking, conflict resolution and court procedures.
Analyse team performance against targets and identify opportunities for improvement.
Deliver exceptional customer service and contribute to service excellence in enforcement of Acts and Local Laws.
Plan and deliver parking enforcement services and manage time and priorities effectively.
Skills and Experience Required
A current Australian driver's license (required).
Proven experience in leading people, including supervision, development planning and feedback.
Experience in applying parking law, evidence collection, note-taking, conflict resolution and court procedures.
Ability to analyse and assess team performance against targets and identify improvements.
Superior customer service skills and demonstrated service excellence in a similar role.
Knowledge of engaging with people to achieve open communication and collaboration.
Strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
Experience in planning and delivering parking enforcement services.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.
High integrity and in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation.
