The Role

The Parking team is within the Compliance Operations Unit and is part of the Amenity and Compliance branch. The Parking and Road Safety Team contributes to the safety and amenity of the municipality through the provision of information, assistance and advice to the community, and the enforcement of Acts, Local Laws and Regulations.

The Team Leader Parking and Road Safety is responsible for providing high-quality leadership, administration, customer service and technical support across the Parking Team. You will guide, coach, train and motivate a team of officers to achieve team objectives, provide strategic direction through data and pattern analysis, and implement improved ways of working.

Working both individually and as part of a larger team, you will be self-motivated, organised, have high attention to detail and be able to work with conflicting priorities. Shift times vary from 6.15am to 16:00pm during the week with occasional overtime on weekends.

Skills And Experience Required
  • A current Australian driver's license (required)
  • Proven experience in leading people, including day-to-day supervision, development of work and development plans and providing constructive feedback.
  • Experience in the application of parking law including evidence collection and note-taking, and conflict resolution and court procedure is required.
  • Able to analyse and assess team performance against team targets and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Superior customer service skills and demonstrated experience delivering service excellence in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience of ways to engage with people to achieve open communication and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, including setting priorities, planning and organising one's own work to complete assigned tasks.
  • Experience in planning and delivering parking enforcement services.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • High level of personal integrity
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation
