**About the role**
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Australia's leading industrial manufacturing and logistics companies as their Safety and Sustainability (SS) Specialist.

Supporting line leadership across a portfolio of operations in Victoria and South Australia to create and maintain a safe, healthy, productive and sustainable workplace through the implementation of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Management System (SHEQMS).

More specifically this will include:

- Lead, direct and be the business expert in Workplace Health & Safety.
- Develop programs that improve the awareness and capability of the site around the identification of critical HSE hazards and risks
- Ensure safety policies, processes and systems are updated in line with legislation to support the ongoing monitoring and reporting of safety performance.
- Manage workplace incident investigation processes and where required liaise with external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant environmental requirements
- Report safety metrics to senior managers and the leadership team.

**About You**
- You will have experience in a similar position, ideally with degree qualifications in health, safety and environment and/or applied science
- You are a self-starter, highly organised and a natural leader
- You have clear communication skills and the ability to develop rapport quickly at all levels
- You have a pragmatic approach and a willingness to be hands on where needed
- You can develop and deliver training in a way that engages your stakeholders
- You have one or more qualifications in Cert IV training and assessment, Lead Auditor, ICAM investigation and RTW Coordinator
- You are able to travel occasionally between sites located across VIC & SA.
