About the role

The Health, Safety and Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for supporting and influencing the safety and sustainability agenda at the Vista Manufacturing site in Deer Park. This role involves promoting safe work outcomes for our team, customers, and suppliers by supporting the development and implementation of world-class health and safety practices.

What You Will Do
  • Drive the effective implementation of all occupational health, safety, and sustainability policies, procedures, and initiatives, ensuring they are embedded into daily operations.

  • Coordinate the implementation of all policies and procedures related to occupational health and safety standards.

  • Assist in deploying Vista's Health, Safety, and Sustainability policies to help achieve a workplace free from injury, discrimination, and harassment.

  • Contribute to a strong safety culture by helping to communicate and consult on Health, Safety, and Sustainability initiatives.

  • Monitor data, trends, and leading indicators to identify opportunities for risk reduction, continuous improvement, and innovation in health, safety, and sustainability practices.

  • Provide facilitation, advice and solutions on Health, Safety, and Sustainability, including legislative compliance and risk management.

  • Conduct regular Health, Safety, and Sustainability inspections and audits, ensuring findings are addressed promptly and improvements are sustained.

  • Facilitate and coordinate WHSE risk assessments, monitor the implementation of actions and coordinate periodic risk reviews.

  • Administer the WHSE management systems (including HSI Donesafe and Chemwatch) to track incidents, hazards, and chemical register updates, ensuring accuracy and timely action.

  • Actively support and coordinate Emergency Response readiness activities, ensuring all team members are trained and prepared.

  • Coordinate and assist in delivering relevant Health, Safety, and Sustainability compliance training for team members (e.g., First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, CPR).

  • Coordinate and conduct Health, Safety, and Sustainability-related training and maintain records.

  • Collaborate on the development, review, and continual improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safety and sustainability best practices are integrated.

  • Oversee workers' compensation, return-to-work, and rehabilitation processes, providing case management and maintaining accurate HSI Solv Injury records, guided by Sustainability and Safety Lead for complex matters

  • Stay up-to-date on State and Federal Health, Safety, and Sustainability legislation and regulations to ensure compliance, and communicate any issues or concerns to the Safety and Sustainability Lead.

Proactively support the development, delivery, and ongoing refinement of the site's Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability strategy.

What You Will Bring:

  • Formal qualifications in Health and Safety (minimum Cert IV WHS)

  • Experience in the field of Health, Safety and Sustainability - (particularly in manufacturing/production and

  • sustainability)

  • Experience in coordinating workplace injuries in a manufacturing environment.

  • RTW Coordinator certificate

  • First Aid certificate (highly desirable)

  • Mental Health First Aid training (highly desirable)

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret health, safety or environment legislation, standards, and procedures, and ability to apply knowledge to improve the management of health, safety or environment in a practical setting

  • Problem solver with a strong desire for success

  • Ability to work on multiple projects, work independently, as well as on a team, prioritise workload & meet deadlines

  • Excellent stakeholder management (internal & external)

  • Excellent organizational & time management skills

  • Knowledge of Google Workplace suite
