**Position Information**:
Tirriwirri School is a located on Ngambri and Ngunnawal lands in Queanbeyan on the border of NSW and the ACT. Close to Canberra, the school is only 10kms from Canberra International airport and is only a short drive to the Snowy Mountains or to the South Coast.

Tirriwirri School is a P1 school in the Queanbeyan Network of schools which caters for students with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities, physical disability, language or sensory impairment and/or neurodivergent. The school currently has 33 students in grades K-12 including 5 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 2 EAL/D students with a FOEI of 77. In addition to the teacher, a school learning and support officer helps the teacher deliver high-quality, personalised learning programs in each classroom.

All programs in our school are planned with the priority of providing every opportunity for active student engagement in an environment focused on learning. A Personalised Learning and Support Plan is developed in consultation with parents and carers and reviewed throughout the year. This plan incorporates individual priorities for each student and Australian Curriculum and NSW NESA outcomes.

Tirriwirri School is an inclusive setting that promotes learning, teaching, and leading for all learners. 2. A proven leader who is approachable, visible and collaborative with outstanding interpersonal skills, who can ensure that the vision for the school is shared clearly, understood and implemented.

3. Proven capability to lead a culture of improvement, innovation, and change, balanced with the demands of managing policy and legislative requirements in a complex, special education setting.

4. Highly developed emotional intelligence and proven ability to lead and manage inclusive partnerships with staff, students, parents/carers and a wide range of external agencies to maintain individual student learning.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
