**Position Information**:
Morisset Public School is situated on the south-west side of Lake Macquarie nearby the central business district and close to the foothills of the Watagan Mountains at Bawarramalang on the ancestral lands of the Awabakal nation.

Morisset Public School is a proud member of the Western Shores Learning Alliance (WSLA), which in partnership with four other primary schools and Morisset High School represent an aspirational cluster of public schools. Morisset Public School has a total of 156 enrolments within a community of increasing diversity. Forty-two students or 27% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and twenty-two students or 14% originate from language backgrounds other than English.

The wellbeing and engagement of our students is a priority with our dedicated staff are united in current professional learning encapsulating Trauma Informed Practice, Peer Support and Restorative Practice. At Morisset Public School, we have a continued focus on high quality explicit teaching to achieve improvement in literacy and numeracy supported by an Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction.

Close consultation with the Itji-Marru Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and our whole school community are supporting the provision of exciting opportunities in Aboriginal Education and High Potential Gifted Education.

Evidence indicates that strong parent and community involvement in student learning continues to improve through active involvement in school events and whole school student initiatives, supporting greater attendance rates and improved overall holistic wellbeing.

Proven ability to cultivate an inclusive school culture that supports the well-being of students and staff, effectively managing the complexity of diverse needs across the entire school community.

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
