The Health Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) team is responsible for managing safety and supporting the health and wellbeing of our people, creating a healthy environment in which employees can perform, are resilient in time of change, are engaged and productive and continue to develop programs and initiatives to enhance the lives of our people.

**Job Description**:
The role of the National Injury and Wellbeing Business Partner is to provide specialist expertise and insight on claims and injury management. Providing care to our team at the time of injury and throughout their recovery. Sharing knowledge and guidance with leaders through this process is also critical. In addition, the role will consult with the business, design and implement wellbeing initiatives to keep our people thriving physically and mentally.

**Role responsibilities**
- Shares ideas and information to contribute to development of strategy for injury and wellbeing support, aligned to the Nine people strategy and Nine strategic business priorities
- Contributes to design and implements frameworks, tools, processes and other mechanisms related to injury management and health and wellbeing
- Manage workers compensation, injury management and return to work programs for both workers compensation and non-work-related claims; and lead health and wellbeing monitoring, including managing functional and psychosocial risk
- Workers Compensation premiums and costs are managed through diligent claims management process and continual reviews
- Build on Nine's approach to mental health by identifying programs specific to industry in order to support wholistic approach to wellbeing

**Employee Responsibilities**
- Manage injuries and claims from start to end. Robust partnership with insurer and broker to ensure best outcomes for our people and commercial realities for Nine
- Have expert knowledge and experience in the interpretation and implementation of the health & wellbeing elements of the WH&S Legislation in addition to Rules and Regulations regarding fitness for duty
- Have demonstrated experience in driving a health and wellbeing culture from a behavioural and compliance perspective in a large complex organisation.
- Assist in the formation of wellbeing strategic objectives
- Facilitation of Wellbeing and mental health programs
- Coordinate claims review with relevant parties to ensure visibility of cases and progress
- Perform ergonomic assessments in field and in office environments
- Seeks out industry best practice to further own learning and bring in fresh thinking to the business within area of expertise
- Be a proven leader and an excellent communicator with the ability to maintain stakeholder relationships through strong collaboration, negotiation and resolution skills

**Qualifications**:
**Essential experience & skills**

Claims Management
- Manage a broad range of injuries end to end
- Manage work/non-work-related injury and illness claims
- Developing, implementing and monitoring effective return-to-work plans
- Managing insurer and broker relationships including claim reviews
- Managing premium renewal process and impacts

Effective Partnerships
- Liaise with various third-party providers including medical practitioners, insurers, solicitors and brokers
- Provide advice to leaders on injury and claims management, legislative compliance to workers compensation and the impact of claims cost and liability

Wellbeing
- Development and embedding of wellbeing strategy with associated programs and initiatives
- Accredited in Mental Health First Aid (desirable)
- Facilitation of training to build capability and skill in leaders and employee base

**General**
- Experience of advising and influencing colleagues and leaders with strong listening skills
- Experience of delivering projects and outcomes within set standards
- Self-motivated and able to work independently on multiple activities, prioritise and adapt to changing conditions.
