Purchasing Officer

**Position Purpose**:
Sealed Air is looking for a Purchasing Officer to help the team meet customer service expectations through ensuring the availability of components and parts needed to fulfil sales and service orders. You'll manage the vendor relationship and ensure all the administration related to purchasing and procurement is correct and timely.
This role is critical in achieving cost improvement programs with vendors and within the broader supply chain, and it also contributes to accurate inventory by assisting in administering the cycle count process.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Runs MRP, places POs ensures POs acknowledged and regularly monitors all open orders.
- Manage customer relationships, day to day and strategically with suppliers, vendors and internal Sealed Air teams.
- Negotiate and secure supply of competitively priced goods and services.
- Ensure goods and services are available in stock as required.
- Vendor dispute resolution - non-conformances, contingent costs, etc.
- Perform Vendor Data Administration tasks.
- Ensure goods and services ordered comply with corporate policies.
- Assists in the administration of cycle count processes.
- Promote ethical purchasing practices in our business dealing with Vendors.
- Deliver continuous performance improvement with Vendors.
- Recommend best trading partners for our business.
- Continually strive to use SAP as effectively as possible.
- Communicate supply constraints to requesting departments.
- Monitor quality and service issues with assigned Vendors.
- Conduct Performance Reviews with assigned Vendors.

- Comply with all safety management systems.
- Any other duties deemed to be fair and reasonable.

**Person Profile / Attributes**
- Demonstrated ability to administer and maintain ERP planning / purchasing system.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a commitment to satisfying all customer needs.
- Demonstrated ability to flexibly deal with dynamic circumstances and general change.
- Advanced Excel competency.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels within Sealed Air and vendor organisations.
- Able to understand and manage all components of inventory value within area of influence.
- Able to work with small team to develop and maintain planning& purchasing processes.
