Job Title: Senior / Principal Landfill Engineer - Land Quality & Remediation
This position plays a crucial role in the design, construction, and operation of landfills to minimize environmental impacts.
The Senior/Principal Landfill Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that landfills are designed and operated in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements. This includes:
Designing landfill cells and liners with consideration for environmental factors such as leachate and gas capture and treatment systems
Developing engineering solutions to mitigate environmental risks associated with landfill operations
Conducting landfill rehabilitation and development projects while minimizing environmental risks
Key qualifications for this position include:
A professional qualification in environmental science or engineering (6-12+ years experience)
Proven capability in environmental management, remediation, and soil science
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
High-level understanding of key landfill engineering elements including leachate and gas capture and treatment systems
Expertise with Vic EPA expectations and requirements for landfill operators
