Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Lead to join our team in driving the development, direction and implementation of environmental and sustainability strategies across our operations.

This role will provide senior leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, promote continuous improvement and ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and supporting compliance operations whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensuring the effective management of environmental risks and opportunities through the Environment Quality & Safety (EQS) assurance program
  • Developing and maintaining procedural documentation and reports to support regulatory compliance and business needs
  • Collaborating with management to develop planning, licensing and regulatory proposals and seeking approvals for various operational sites
  • Planning and managing ongoing environmental assessment, sampling, monitoring and auditing programs for all sites
  • Acting as a key representative and liaison for environmental matters associated with various levels of government, industry and the broader community
  • Ensuring timely amendments and implementation of policies and procedures to align with regulatory and/or state government guidelines or changes

About You:

We are looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary (to Cert IV level) or Bachelor of Engineering within Environment, Science or Sustainability related discipline
  • Proven experience in the project management of environmental management
  • Experience implementing Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001 is highly desirable
  • Intermediate level computer skills in MS office suite
  • Ability to interpret licence conditions, waste analytical results and provide consultation to site staff and management accordingly
  • Ability to travel within Australia as per business requirements

As an ideal candidate, you will possess excellent communication skills, be able to maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and have strong negotiation and problem-solving skills including your ability to present effective environmental solutions.
