Job Description

A strategic opportunity exists for a Sustainability Specialist to lead environmental sustainability initiatives. The role involves collaborating with clinical staff and waste management teams to identify reduction, recycling, and efficiency opportunities.

The successful candidate will support individual departments and clinical areas in implementing sustainability initiatives, serving as a liaison between the sustainability unit and clinical areas. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering initiatives to enhance Austin Health's environmental and sustainability performance.
  • Assisting in meeting environmental targets and regulatory requirements.
  • Contributing to cost-saving initiatives, maximizing efficiency, and elevating staff awareness and education.

For success in this role, the candidate must demonstrate:

  • Experience in supporting teams to deliver outcomes.
  • Ability to influence change.
  • High standards of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work at all levels.
  • Knowledge and understanding of environmental sustainability, including waste management.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience in graphic design software tools such as In-design.
  • Clinical background.
  • Facilitation or program design experience.
