**About the role**
**Main tasks**:You will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, maintaining customer relationships, and contributing to the success and reputation of the company in the Australian paint industry.
**Other tasks**:
- **Seek** and develop new business opportunities, particularly within the automotive and industrial industries, around the Northern Rivers and Southern Gold Coast area.
- **Manage** and nurture existing customer accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty while generating increased business.
- **Work** towards and contribute to achieving sales budgets and targets, demonstrating a strong focus on meeting and exceeding key performance indicators.
- **Utilise** your technical knowledge of architectural, industrial, and protective paint systems to provide expertise and support to customers and effectively represent the company's product offerings.
- **Maintain** relationships with existing customers, focusing on those in the automotive, industrial, protective, and marine coatings industries, including panel/crash shops, fabricators, and refinishers.
- **Stay** informed about the local competitive landscape within the industry and adapt strategies to maintain the company's strong position in the market.
- **Collaborate** closely with strategic supply partners to ensure the availability of products, address customer needs, and enhance the overall customer experience.
- **Demonstrate** self-motivation and flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions.

The team takes pride in the quality of products on offer, and you'll work from a branch with some exceptionally knowledgeable paint experts from whom you can learn more about the industry
- Success in both new business development & account management in a previous sales role
- Possess strong technical aptitude, particularly related to industrial, architectural or paint & coating systems
- Self-motivation, flexibility, negotiation skills, collaboration, & exceptional customer relations capabilitie
**You will be highly regarded if you also have**:
- A background in the coatings industry, primarily related to the automotive, protective, industrial, or marine sectors
- Working knowledge of protective coatings or spray equipment & refinishing supplies
- Active contacts in panel beating and crash shops, refinishers, or fabricators
