**Overview**:
To coordinate the operational management of the Community Venues effectively and efficiently, including contracting events and management of key stakeholders/tenants.
Maximise the use of the community venues to through the delivery of commercial and community events. Community Venues include - Beenleigh Events Centre, Beenleigh Town Square, Crete Street Theatre, Logan West Community Centre, Underwood Park Hall and SW1 Berrinba Wetlands.
We are looking for a high level of interpersonal skills to enable the development and maintenance of effective relationships with industry networks. Demonstrated experience and abilities in event / venue management including client negotiations
- Demonstrated experience in increasing utilisation of public spaces through the development and implementation of an activation strategy.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and developing small to medium sized teams.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of community facilities including halls and event centres.
- Well-developed and proven administrative and written skills to effectively influence policy decisions.
- Contracting and venue hire activities
- Provision of operational services for functions and events
- Cost effective roster preparation
- Delivery of a high level of customer service standards within budget constraints
- Ensure compliance with Liquor Licensing, Workplace Health and Safety, Emergency evacuation procedures
- Provide professional event management support to internal and external stakeholders Ensure risk management protocols are in place for all events and programs
- Develop effective working relationships with hirers, community organisations, internal stakeholders, and corporate service suppliers Coordinate client meetings, negotiate with hirers and prepare quotes and costings
- Prepare event specification documents and record communications Undertake hands on role to fulfil the event duties as required
- Program Leader in the preparation, monitoring and review of the budget and financial operations of the venue to ensure financial targets are met Ensure compliance with Council financial policies, cash handling and systems and procedures
- Preparation of final costings of accounts for each event Assist the Venue Services Program Leader with the development of the Business Plan Coordinate the development, delivery and review of financial policies, systems, and procedures in accordance with Council's corporate policies and guidelines.
- Promote and champion a culture of learning and growth where ideas and knowledge are shared, and staff are committed to professional and personal development.
