About the role
Our Employee Relations Team is a critical function that supports the employee relations capability across the organisation. The team deliver specialist advice and expertise across a range of employee relations initiatives, including negotiating and administering industrial instruments, managing employee disputes and grievances, and driving proactive employee relations initiatives.
We now have an opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join our Collingwood based team. Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, and working closely with the broader HR community and people leaders, your accountabilities will include.:
- Partnering with Business unit leaders to negotiate enterprise agreements with various unions
- Partnering with People Business Partners, key stakeholders and the Communications Teams to develop communications for Employee Groups
- Drafting of documentation such as agreements, letters, EBA clauses, contractual documentation and FWC documents
- Providing guidance to People Business Partners on the management of industrial matters such as grievances, compliance and unfair dismissal claims and ER policy matters
- Interpreting agreements and represent management in the negotiation and settlement of grievances under established procedures
- Providing regular advice and training to frontline leaders and the People team on contemporary industrial relations practices
About You
We are searching for an experienced HR Business Partner or ER Manager who has a strong track record in Employee Relations. Naturally, you are a skilled influencer and stakeholder manager who has a passion for achieving outcomes through partnering with leaders and investing in building superior relationships. You will genuinely enjoy working in a fast-paced busy team and bring a structured, organised, analytical approach to ensure that effective delivery of high quality outcomes.
To achieve success in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in law, employee relations or related discipline
- Employee Relations experience in a large, fast paced organisation, ideally including a large operational workforce
- Understanding of current compliance practices including a solid working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other relevant employment/industrial laws
- Experience working with and interpreting industrial instruments and drafting of employment related documentation
- Strong analytical skills and strong working knowledge of MSWord/Excel/PowerPoint
- Strong organisation and coordination skills and a willingness to engage in an element of administrative work
- Strong work ethic and preparedness to travel interstate or to New Zealand and to sometimes be away from home overnight.
