**Job Description**:
As a Reinsurance Analyst, you join the Reinsurance Administration team who are apart of TAL's finance business unit. You will be part of a team who interact with a vast number of stakeholders and contribute to the overall finance strategy and objectives. This role is suited to someone who is looking for their first role in Life Insurance or is looking for the next step in their career.

This is a permanent role, working flexibly from our Sydney office.

In this role you will:

- Analyse and manage reinsurance claim and premium accounts in accordance with Treaty Agreements whilst at the same time monitoring monthly reinsurance data and information across difference sources/systems ensuring risks and issues are identified, quantified, managed and escalated where appropriate
- Ensure monthly reinsurance validation, adjustments and reconciliations are completed within given timeframes
- Ensure timely and accurate recovery and payment of reinsurance accounts
- Liaise with Reinsurers as required, assisting with Reinsurer queries to ensure accurate data reporting
- Monitor the Reinsurance Debtors report and proactively manage outstanding accounts
- Proactively raise and support rectification of all reinsurance related issues relevant to own areas of responsibility
- Refer more complex issues to senior management
- Identify opportunities and assist to further enhance Reinsurance Operational processes
- Support and represent reinsurance on team and broader reinsurance projects
- Build and develop relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure continuous strong working relationships with all TAL stakeholders and Reinsurers

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification, preferably in Mathematics, Accounting, Actuarial and/or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high level of attention to detail and ability to enhance controls and checking processes
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of SQL, desired
- An ability to work autonomously in a busy environment and be able to prioritise urgent business needs and manage multiple deadlines
- Team player who is willing to work openly and effectively with a diverse team, in collaboration with others
- Self-motivated and able to drive tasks to completion
- Positive approach to relationship management (internal and external clients), including the ability to be respectful of differing points of view and modify approach as required to obtain the best outcome for TAL's stakeholders
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the life insurance industry and strong awareness of life insurance/reinsurance principles is desired
