**Description**:
About the role
Permanent part time position (16 hours per week)
The Data Officer plays a significant role in supporting the organisation to manager and present data. We are seeking a motivated person with strong skills and attention to detail to join our team. This role involves working within our data team and others in the organisation on a wide range of tasks which enable timely accurate data collection and utilisation. The position is actively involved in Family Planning Australia's reporting, monitoring and evaluation activities which support provision of our clinical services, research, health promotion and education programs in Australia and the Pacific.
The Ethics Executive Officer plays a significant role in supporting the quality of Family Planning Australia's research activities in Australia and the Pacific. We are seeking a well organised person with a passion for research to join our team. This position is responsible for providing a full range of timely, confidential executive and administrative support to the Family Planning Australia Ethics Committee. The role works with a range of stakeholders to ensure research projects are planned and implemented according to required standards and balance the risks and benefits to research participants.

**Skills and Experiences**:
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
Degree qualification in the field of data management, public health, research or equivalent
Experience in data management including in the management, validation and quality control of an extensive dataset, preferably health related
Experience and knowledge on relational database and data extraction programs (i.e. MS Access Query, SQL query, crystal report, Visual Basic, SAS, etc)
Proven high level experience in using Microsoft Office packages, especially Word & Excel and Access
Demonstrated ability to collate data/information from disparate published and unpublished sources and the ability to effectively track and manage data, versions and updates, and data sources.
Ability to adapt to new systems and processes, or high administration experience in a research-intensive environment
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgement while maintaining data integrity and security
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a task-oriented and multi-disciplinary team
Excellent time management skills, with ability to prioritise workload during busy periods to align with project timeframes and meet deadlines
Ability and to manage workload to work concurrently on a number of different projects and tasks to a high standard while meeting the requirements of organisational systems and constraints to achieve expected outcomes
Must have Australian working rights
Desirable
Experience with data visualisation tools
Experience in the development of online data collection such as Survey Monkey & Redcap
Ability to assist with the design of new systems to support data collection, monitoring and management
Knowledge of copyright requirements
Other requirements
A Criminal Record Check is required prior to commencement in this role.
