**The role of the Operational Team Leader includes:
Supervising and leading a team of Forensic Officers to ensure that they deliver high quality support and services to clients at the FDS and that they consistently demonstrate professional and ethical conduct. You will ensure that staff practices are consistent with all relevant legislative requirements, policies, procedures and practices, including the Forensic Disability Act 2011 (Qld) and the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld). You may also exercise specific powers or functions as conferred by a declaration, appointment or delegation under the Forensic Disability Act 2011.
Maintaining an appropriate level of general health and fitness in order to undertake their duties. They must be capable of performing all physical requirements of the position which may include actively engaging clients in sport and recreation activities including active participation, and if required provide physical assistance, and employee physical intervention. It is vital that Operational Team Leaders have the ability to be emotionally resilient and demonstrate perseverance in achieving objectives and coping effectively with setbacks, challenges and incidents.
Responsibility for approving rosters and leave for the Forensic Officers they manage with consideration for the operations of the entire service. The Operational Team Leader will deploy staff on a shift-by-shift basis and respond to staff shortages after business house, on weekends and on public holidays.
A requirement of the ability to perform continuous shift work across 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on rostered shifts, which can involve a combination of morning, afternoon and night shifts including weekends. Due to the nature of shift work the ability to convey important information to co-workers at the end of each shift and ability to communicate clearly and work together is critical.
