The Women's & Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.

Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of vulnerable babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.

**The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) **is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services / perinatal women.

**The Opportunity**

An exciting opportunity exists within **CAMHS Northern Country Team, **located at **Kadina & Port Pirie** to join the team as **Aboriginal Social & Emotional Wellbeing Worker, ASO5 **on an **Ongoing**, **full time capacity.**

As the CAMHS Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Worker, you will:

- accept accountability for the outcomes of their practice with Aboriginal children, adolescents their families with social and emotional and/or mental health issues
- address inconsistencies between practice and policy
- ensure optimal consumer care
- accountable to the Clinical Services Coordinator, and professionally to the Senior Aboriginal Clinician, for delivering culturally responsive child and adolescent mental health care to consumers with complex needs.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have to:

- Demonstrate ability to integrate Aboriginal cultural experiences
- Communicate and work with other professionals, facilitate group functions and work as a team member
- Demonstrated experience in engaging, establishing relationships, having informed discussions with Aboriginal children and young people
- Demonstrated experience working in social and emotional/mental health services and/or other relevant community services, and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of appropriate counselling and group work modalities for Aboriginal children, young people and their families
