Senior Aboriginal Health Professional

This is a key position within our organisation focused on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people.

An applicant's Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification, and this position is authorised under relevant laws and regulations.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Aboriginal Health Professional to join our team, working in the area of drug and alcohol services.

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of strategies to improve access to healthcare for Aboriginal people with substance dependence needs.

This includes collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including non-government organisations, primary care providers, social support services, justice agencies, and mental health services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and referral pathways.
  • Developing and implementing culturally appropriate programs and services.
  • Collaborating with Aboriginal patients, families, and communities to achieve positive health outcomes.
Requirements:
  • A person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
  • Formal qualifications relevant to the role, such as a degree in health or social science.
  • Experience working in Aboriginal health, including program development and community engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
