**Who are we looking for?**

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Technician (RPAS & Systems) to join Research Infrastructure, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Technician (RPAS & Systems) will support and enable a wide variety of research activities across a broad range of projects, especially focusing on remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) within the Robotics and Autonomous Systems domain. The role supports and contributes to maintenance of RPAS operations and data acquisition, performs system integration, and conducts field work to enable QUT research projects that utilise robotics platforms, especially RPAS (drones). Field work can occur anywhere within Australia, including but not limited to Antarctica and the Great Barrier Reef.

The Office of Research Infrastructure (RI) delivers coordinated University-wide research infrastructure capabilities through distinct research facilities. In collaboration with internal and external partners, the unit acquires, facilitates access to, develops, and manages world-class research infrastructure capabilities. As a part of RI, the Research Engineering Facility (REF) provides cutting-edge research engineering and technology services including experimental hardware design, systems integration, software engineering and proof-of-concept validation and testing. Capabilities span drones and aviation, robotics and autonomous systems, energy systems, design and systems integration, structural engineering and testing, and data acquisition, processing and management.

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

You will demonstrate:

- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree with subsequent relevant experience in maintenance and operation of remotely piloted aircraft systems, including holding RePL certification from CASA.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and work collaboratively to achieve team based outcomes whilst embracing and participating in change, as well as independently with mínimal supervision in the completion of work tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality client service through contributing to building a safe and caring environment for our people
- Proven ability to analyse, problem solve and critically evaluate equipment.
- Demonstrated high-level digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant equipment specific software or the ability to quickly acquire these skills
