**About the role**:
Ampol's **Operations and Partnering** team plays a critical role in turning Ampol's technology strategy into real-world results. We work closely with business units to identify, prioritise, and deliver initiatives that align with our business goals—while carefully tracking the value each initiative brings to the Ampol Group.
The **Technology Business Partner - Retail** will act as the strategic interface between Ampol's Retail business and Technology, Digital & Data (TDD) to shape, prioritise, and deliver technology-enabled business value across our fuel and convenience network. Offering a unique opportunity to influence every aspect of the customer and store experience across the supply chain
- from forecourt to back office, from mobile app to pump, this role will ensure alignment between business goals and innovative technology solutions. Working closely with senior leaders, this role will shape demand, drive prioritisation, and foster trusted partnerships to shape roadmaps, drive digital transformation, and deliver measurable outcomes for the Ampol Retail business.
**You'll take us further by**:
- Serve as the key strategic technology partner to the Retail business, fostering deep alignment between technology direction and the commercial objectives of the Retail business.
- Build trusted relationships at the executive level, maintain ongoing visibility into Retail strategy, and proactively identify opportunities where technology can unlock competitive advantage, enhance performance, and drive growth.
- Provide strategic oversight to ensure technology solutions are user-centric, commercially viable, and tightly aligned with Retail business objectives.
- Champion a cross-functional approach that balances innovation with practical delivery, ensuring solutions meet both operational needs and long-term strategic goals.
- Translate complex business needs into practical, scalable technology solutions across digital and physical retail, delivering commercial impact and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Set the strategic direction for end-to-end Retail technology and lead the definition and evolution of product and platform roadmaps.
- Drive prioritisation and investment decisions that translate business vision into scalable, high-impact technology outcomes through robust business case development, ROI modelling, and benefits realisation frameworks.
- Shape demand into structured needs with benefits, prioritising based on value and capacity, support the business cases and drive value realisation.
**We'd love it if you have**:
- Proven leadership experience in complex, multi-site or distributed operational environments, ideally in a Retail setting
- Strong expertise in enterprise technology ecosystems, including POS, payments, ERP, CRM, inventory, and supply chain platforms
- Demonstrated ability to translate commercial and operational priorities into scalable, user-centric technology solutions
- Experience shaping business demand into clear, actionable initiatives through business analysis, product management, or project delivery across varied industries
- Proven ability to align technology initiatives with business strategy and deliver measurable outcomes, supported by strong commercial acumen and an understanding of ROI, trade-offs, and value realization
- Experience in defining and delivering product and platform roadmaps that support strategic growth and operational excellence
- Cross-functional leadership capability, with a history of building trusted partnerships with senior business and operations stakeholders and an ability to influence and advise at an executive level.
- Strong background in systems integration, automation, and digital enablement to drive efficiency, resilience, and innovation
- Ability to balance short-term tactical needs with long-term strategic vision in dynamic, high-growth environments
- Deep understanding of how to leverage technology to improve customer experience, operational performance, and agility
