**The Opportunity**

Our **Telecommunications Technician** will implement the installation and commissioning of new equipment in our street cabinets, migrate customers, (re-jumper) customers between equipment and support TPG by working within our team to meet project deadlines.

**Responsibilities**
- Work will be performed at our Street Cabinets and will include auditing customers connections, the re-jumper services between nodes and general jumper and Node clean-up
- Install and Commission new DSLAM equipment in Street Cabinets, connect fibre optic cables, label equipment, document outcomes and perform troubleshooting on faulty equipment
- Work in a flexible manner as directed by the Network Engineering Manager and Senior Technicians to meet project deadlines
- Work with Administrative staff during customer migrations to monitor services and perform troubleshooting
- Be responsible for taking reasonable care of your own safety and wellbeing at work, and to avoid adversely affecting the safety and wellbeing of another person at work

**Skills & Experience Requirements**
- White Card
- Experience with re-jumper services and general jumper Node clean-up
- Installation and commissioning of new DSLAM equipment (preferable in Street Cabinets)
- Fibre and copper troubleshooting on faulty equipment
- Installation of Fibre optic cable
- Experience working on projects and to project deadlines
- Copper joints and terminating
- General computer skills
- Basic report writing
- Car license
- OH&S understanding
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Contractor management
