Telecommunications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Specialist to join our team. As a Telecommunications Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of new equipment in our street cabinets, migrating customers, and supporting our team to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Audit customer connections, re-jumper services between nodes, and perform general jumper and Node clean-up.
  • Install and Commission new DSLAM equipment in Street Cabinets, connect fibre optic cables, label equipment, document outcomes, and perform troubleshooting on faulty equipment.
  • Work in a flexible manner as directed by the Network Engineering Manager and Senior Technicians to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Administrative staff during customer migrations to monitor services and perform troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • White Card
  • Experience with re-jumper services and general jumper Node clean-up
  • Installation and commissioning of new DSLAM equipment (preferable in Street Cabinets)
  • Fibre and copper troubleshooting on faulty equipment
  • Installation of Fibre optic cable
  • Experience working on projects and to project deadlines
  • Copper joints and terminating
  • General computer skills
  • Basic report writing
  • Car license
  • OH&S understanding
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Contractor management
