About the role
This position is a permanent full-time role in the Water and Sewerage team, based at Moruya. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate the Technical Services Team, overseeing the management of technical enquiries and the delivery of services related to Council's water and sewer systems. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders to provide expert technical guidance that ensures safe, efficient, and customer-focused outcomes. The position also includes the supervision of staff in alignment with Council's values and safety standards, with support for after-hours activities as required.
The starting salary for this position is $93,585.69 per annum plus 12% superannuation.

About you
We are seeking a candidate with proven experience in implementing Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, combined with strong technical expertise in water and sewer operations. A sound understanding of relevant industry standards and the development application process is essential. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in successfully leading and managing teams, and will also bring :
A strong customer-focused approach, with the ability to prioritise and respond to technical enquiries using risk-based criteria, while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Technical expertise in responding to development-related enquiries and providing accurate, timely advice.
Advanced knowledge in asset management, including contributing to Asset Management Plans, assisting with contract scoping and procurement, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards in the water and sewer industry.
The ability to support day-to-day operational activities by providing technical guidance, coordinating resources, and ensuring service delivery meets safety, quality, and performance expectations.
