About the
role The
Cultural Mentor will work within a multi-faceted team to draw upon
their strengths to engage with Aboriginal families and stakeholders
to support the delivery of the Connected Beginnings program to
ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are on track
to begin school.
The role requires flexibility to ensure adequate
engagement and support with families where it is most needed and
maintain relationships with external support providers.
People
who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are
strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications Essential:
Knowledge of child protection legislation and
responsibilities.
Desirable:
Early Childhood Qualification.
Special conditions The
successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human
Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being
employed which is required to be renewed every five years before
expiry.
The
incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding
to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator
Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals)
course which will be required to be updated every three
years.

Remuneration ECW2 $71,338 per
annum (1.0 FTE)
