**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The Supervisor Open Space will be held accountable for the Co-orodination of resources and activities carried out by the Council's Open Space maintenace teams. This position will ensure Council's open spaces are maintained to meet communities expectations by implementing a works program utilising industry best practice.
The successful applicant will require:
- Qualified to Certificate III in Horticulture, Greenkeeping or equivalent with relevant experience in parks maintenance and enhancement and or bushcare.
- Demonstrated significant work experience in multiple parks operations functional areas such as parks and gardens maintenance, horticulture, landscape construction, and/or sports turf management.
- Sound knowledge of industry best practice, trends and issues in open space maintenance including maintenance programming, weed, pest & disease control and playground standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage & supervise multiple teams (includes apprentices, contractors & volunteers) and contribute to team goals and outcomes
- Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with peers, customers and community organisations and an ability to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.
- Be able to demonstrate a strong customer focus with sound customer service skills and the ability to embrace a system of change and continual improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively complete relevant administration tasks associated with the position including the preparation of correspondence, documents and reports
- Computer literacy, particularly in the MS office suite packages and Tech1
- Class C driver's licence.

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement.
This role is predominantly located at Council's Auburn and Guildford Depots, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations.
**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 13 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,886.23 to $2,169.16 per week, plus 10.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
- Leaseback vehicle
