**Expression of Interest - Employee Development Mentor**

Arcare Templestowe are seeking expressions of interest for an Employee Development Mentor
- Bachelor of Nursing
- 12 month fixed-term contract
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)

**Position Summary**

The Employee Development Mentor is responsible for enabling direct care team members to provide quality personal, social and emotional care to residents through providing ongoing training and professional development. The role partners with the roster coordinator to ensure a high level mix of skill is maintained to meet the needs of clients in accordance with Arcare's Values.

**Key Work Areas**
- Act as the first point of contact for support and mentoring of all new employees in relation to training, professional practice, standards of performance, actions and escalation.
- Assist with building a culture where every task and interaction with a client is viewed as an opportunity to bring respect, joy and life to the relationship.
- Building relationships with local Registered Training Organisations within a region that provides an active pipeline for placement and recruitment.
- Engage with line managers to map and monitor the progress of new employees identifying challenges, concerns and achievements.
- Partner with the roster coordinator to understand rosters and vacancies within the facility with the objective to fill rosters to the best of their ability allowing for the best possible skill mix to meet client needs.
- Mentor Employees within their scope of practice and support them through their training.
- Model and demonstrate extensive knowledge of Arcare's Values, Relationship -first approach of care and Senses-framework.

**Selection criteria**

**Essential**
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Current NDIS WSC Check and Statutory Declaration that doesn't preclude working in Aged Care

**Desirable**
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment
- Previous experience as a Trainer
