Reporting to the Store Design Lead you will be responsible for assisting in the creative design and concepts for our store network. The Store designer will create innovative and commercial Store Design concepts & solutions that align with the David Jones strategic direction and ensures a "world class" in-store look & feel/aesthetic and experiences that sets the brand apart from its competitors across the network.

Based in Melbourne with a hybrid mix of time in the office and home, along with regular store visits, this is a great opportunity for an up and coming creative designer to leave a real impact on our customer and in-store experience. You will work closely with the Store Design Manager and be comfortable in an ever-evolving evolving landscape for the brand.

What does the role involve?
- Work collaboratively to lead new concept design, design of new features, fixtures and materials
- Develop innovative design concepts/solutions that continue to challenge and surprise.
- Provide store design concept packs that demonstrate; project flow, experiences/VM activations, services and department/brand adjacencies flow that elevate the customer and staff experience at the beginning of each project.
- Continually evaluate existing concept and components to optimise aesthetic and cost effectiveness ensuring alignment to project budgets
- Develop and drive concepts that align with the positive Sustainability outcomes.
- Develop and maintain external relationships with suppliers and landlords

Who are we looking for?
- Interior Design, Architecture, or equivalent qualifications
- Creativity and visual aesthetic
- Fashion retail design experience is highly advantageous
- Experience with Indesign, MS Office, Photoshop or Sketch up
- Experience working in teams within a commercial creative environment with a focus on specialised Store Design
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and work flexibly
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage confidential information
