**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
We are looking for a Business Assurance Manager to play a critical role in establishing the new Business Assurance function and contribute to the delivery of successful business outcomes and ensure appropriate business practices are met.

Through the independent evaluation of management and monitoring controls, the Business Assurance team will confirm quality assurance standards and frameworks are fit for purpose and ensure business operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory obligations, and contractual requirements through internal policies and procedures. This role will facilitate the development of relevant reporting on the implementation of these frameworks and act as a trusted advisor to the business.

**RESPONSIBILITIES IN A SNAPSHOT**

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will:

- Conduct assurance reviews across EG operations, functions, and vendors to evaluate associated risks, including independent evaluation of internal controls and governance in place to effectively manage risk for the business (50% of role and high risk/complexity).
- Develop Annual Business Assurance Plan based on risk/gap analysis in control for approval by Risk Committee & CEO.
- Manage risk and controls processes ensuring adequate risk consideration is applied, conduct risk assessments, and advise, and coordinate any control enhancements required.
- Assess impacts and change management required for the successful implementation of Business Assurance monitoring and controls.
- Deliver Business Assurance reporting and insights by analysing key trends and ensuring risks or concerns are appropriately escalated.
- Formulate findings based on assurance activities for controls and work with the business to agree on appropriate improvement actions including exception and escalation reporting and management.
- Manage and coach the Business Assurance team to deliver the Annual Business Assurance plan and continuous improvement of the function.

**WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**
- Proven management experience within a business assurance/audit or risk management role.
- Detailed understanding of proactive and systematic modern techniques to gain assurance through risk data management processes.
- Record of driving successful Business Assurance outcomes on complex enterprise and operational assurance programs, ideally within Fuel & Convenience.
- A talented team manager who can lead a team and support the delivery of change.
- Broad compliance knowledge and highly tuned relationship management skills.
- Confidence and credibility with an ability to effectively communicate information and knowledge assertively.
- Demonstrated ability in developing clear and compelling communication of insights to build alignment on assurance practice.
