We are passionate about baking and are looking for a dedicated Quality Assurance Officer to join our growing team and help us maintain our commitment to excellence.
**The Opportunity**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs, policies, and procedures in line with Australian food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, Food Standards Australia New Zealand - FSANZ).
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of raw materials, ingredients, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety specifications.
- Monitor all stages of the production process, identifying potential quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including hygiene and sanitation practices within the bakery.
- Manage and maintain accurate quality assurance documentation, including records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
- Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and implement preventative measures.
- Train staff on quality assurance procedures, food safety protocols, and hygiene standards.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming raw materials and ingredients.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in food safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
**Required Qualifications and Skills**:
- knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety management systems.
- Familiarity with Australian food safety standards and regulations (FSANZ Food Standards Code).
- Understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices in a food production setting.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence1 others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation.
- A relevant qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is advantageous.
