Quality Assurance & Global Process Specialist, Oceania (12-Month Contract, Maternity Cover)

The role of the Quality Assurance & Global Process Specialist is to support the Quality & Regulatory Manager in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, customer restrictions, and global guidelines. This position involves maintaining quality assurance programs, including HACCP, pre-requisition programs, and related policies, procedures, and controls to uphold performance, quality, and food safety standards. Additionally, you will foster a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the organization.

All team members are expected to prioritize safety, including handling dangerous goods with appropriate PPE and following safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

The Position:

• Maintain quality assurance programs, policies, processes, procedures, and controls to ensure performance, quality, and food safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement and control of management systems in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, FSSC22000, SMETA, and the Symrise Global Integrated Management System.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards across products, procedures, operations, and customer interactions.
• Collaborate with international affiliates to support country-specific regulatory compliance.
• Manage customer complaints, including review, investigation, communication, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain and develop HACCP and pre-requisite programs to ensure food safety, including environmental monitoring, cleaning, pest and allergen control, food defense, traceability, non-conformance management, and validation activities.
• Participate in Food Safety and Food Defence Committees.
• Lead and support audits (AIB, ISO9001, FSC22000), including certification, customer, supplier, and internal audits.
• Coordinate GMP audits onsite and with third-party logistics providers.
• Maintain IMS documentation related to QA and collaborate to keep SymIMS updated.
• Develop and deliver GMP training for new hires and refresher sessions for staff.
• Maintain accurate manufacturing records for traceability and compliance.
• Support the Quality Manager in food safety issues and stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards on quality and food safety.
• Provide technical support on quality assurance and food safety initiatives.
• Track and report key performance metrics for management review.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for Quality and Food Safety.
• Monitor environmental data, including energy, water, and waste reporting.
• Assist in environmental, health, and safety compliance, including waste management, water discharges, emissions, and other regulations.
• Develop, control, and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) and reporting.
• Ensure controlled documents, SOPs, and work instructions are properly maintained and updated in SymIMS.
• Manage audit findings, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
• Oversee Quality Control activities and laboratory testing as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Proven ability to write precise technical documents.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
