About the Role

The Assistant Director position in the Quality Assurance team is responsible for leading quality assurance activities and ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks. This role involves developing and coordinating delivery of annual quality assurance workplans, championing quality assurance in the team, and managing direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and coordinate delivery of annual quality assurance workplans covering various sampling activities within the team to ensure business outputs align with legislative requirements, best practices, and efficient quality controls.
  2. Support the group's operational quality assurance function and ensure adherence to the Commission's quality assurance framework.
  3. Champion quality assurance in the team by leading a team of quality assurance officers to conduct various sampling activities to ensure outputs align with legislative requirements, validated evidence, reasoning for decisions, and professional writing.
  4. Evaluate early risk detection during quality assurance activities and escalate contentious findings to the Executive Director and Director with remediation options.
  5. Coordinate the implementation of endorsed quality assurance recommendations within the team, including with the capability team to co-design training products and/or guidance materials.
  6. Manage a team of direct reports and assign tasks accordingly.
Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and analysis to align planned activities with Commission priorities, including quality assurance uplift associated with introduction of new aged care legislation.
  • Display well-developed analytical abilities in areas of quality assurance, audit, and internal reviews.
  • Show strong attention to detail and ability to review and edit reports.
  • Exhibit effective communication and negotiation skills to deliver mutual goals and objectives with various internal staff.
  • Show ability to deliver commitments and focus on collaboration to achieve goals in a timely manner.
  • Understand and comply with legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks, particularly the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act (2018) and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Rules (2018).
Benefits

This non-ongoing opportunity offers a competitive salary between $114,247 - $130,300 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Additionally, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

Other Information

This is an irregular/intermittent term opportunity, with opportunities offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
