**Work type**: Part-Time/Full-Time

**Location**:Senami Offices and travel to other locations as requested

**Job role**:The Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner will be responsible for providing behaviour intervention services to clients with disabilities. The Practitioner will play a key role in delivering the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) services in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide.

The Practitioner will primarily work closely with children and their families to build and foster inclusion. The Practitioner will develop, implement behavior support plans in consultation with the client, families and other stakeholders.

**Job duties**:
To conduct behavioural assessments, including functional analyses, and provide interpretations of the results.
- To formulate and implement behavioural interventions. To effectively develop and implement appropriate assessment and intervention methods.

To produce PBS plans in accordance with good practice guidance in this area.

To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and intervention with clients working alongside other professionals in the multidisciplinary team.

To maintain good working relationships with other members of the multidisciplinary team and ensure effective communication through good verbal communication skills and the production of professional reports.
- To attend multi-disciplinary meetings.

To be involved, as appropriate, in the assessment of clients being considered for intake to Senami services.
- To provide behavioural advice, guidance and consultation to families, support staff and other professionals contributing directly to peoples' assessment, analysis and intervention plans within a Positive Behaviour Support Framework.

To manage highly complex information and sensitive situations involving exposure to distressing, traumatic and emotional material, including exposure to challenging behaviours.

To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and intervention plans of people under their care and to monitor progress during the course of both uni and multi-disciplinary care.

To take part in regular professional supervision and appraisal and maintain an active engagement with current developments in the field of Positive Behaviour Support and related disciplines.
- To continue to develop skills and knowledge through further training.
- To provide advice, consultation and training to families and staff working with the client group across a range of settings, where appropriate.
- To maintain links with clinicians working in similar roles locally and to promote and represent the organisation in relevant forums.

To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit.

To utilise theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence based practice in individual work and work with other team members.

Responsible for the regular use of information technology resources to facilitate communication, to develop clinical assessment and intervention resources, and to collect and analyse data for clinical and research purposes.

To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice and Senami policies and procedures.

To maintain professional registration with the appropriate governing body.

To maintain up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, national and local policies and issues.

**Mandatory knowledge and skills**:

- Knowledge of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework (Desirable)
- Ability to conduct functional behavior assessments and develop PBS plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a tam
- Current Working with Children Check, NDIS Check and National Police Clearance
- Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Should be registered with NDIS Commission
- Knowledge of various psychotherapy techniques with a focus on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and
