Take on big challenges and grow, through mentorship, collaboration and empowerment.Thiess is the place to make things happen.About the roleWe are seeking Drill Operators for permanent opportunities at our QCoal Northern Hub Project situated in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, about 200 kilometres' northwest of Mackay and 6km south of Collinsville.Working a 7 on and 7 off roster and adhering to Thiess' safety standards and operational procedures you will:Accurately check the quality and depth of drill holes and record ground conditions that may affect blasting;Maintain a clean and tidy Drill rig and report/address any maintenance faults;Demonstrate a positive attitude towards regular and reliable drill metres, rig utilisation and consumables usage;Provide neat and complete associated documentation for drill reports and pre-starts checks;Regularly use and active participation in safety assessments; andBe willing to be trained across a variety of drill rigs in the fleet and show an adaptable attitude.About youMinimum 12 months drilling experience in the mining industry with verified machinery skills list (Signed Training Transcripts)Verified machinery skills list (Signed Training Transcripts)A proactive attitude with the desire to work reliably as part of a teamCurrent Standard 11(or willingness to obtain) and current drivers licenceA commitment to a positive safety cultureAlignment to our principles: Integrity, Accountability, Innovation & DeliveryExperience with rotary or top hammer drills- advantageousWhat Thiess can do for youOpportunity to earn $124,045 plus super + $10,000 Retention Payment (paid in 52 weekly payments)Attendance allowance - $250 per fortnightBIBO from TownsvilleCamp accommodation close to mine site - 10 minutes down the roadLiving out of camp or LAFH allowances available for Bowen or Collinsville areas (Local Living)Even time 7/7 day/night rotating roster - 12hr shiftsA range of corporate discounts including health insurance, travel and retail productAbout usThiess works with clients in Australia, Asia and the Americas in the dynamic field of open-cut and underground mining.The pioneering spirit of our founders - the legendary Thiess brothers - is our legacy, and inspires our vision to harness the power of people and technology to drive sustainable change.At Thiess, you will have the opportunity to play a part in the global energy transition.
